Historical Approach: An Example to Explore (Literature)

This study examined the perception of the other in the Kite Runner novel by taking a historical approach. In this way, the researchers were able to trace back pivotal events in Afghanistan's modern history to understand how characters evolved throughout the novel. A historical approach was also necessary for understanding how these events impacted worldviews about Afghanistan. In Chapter One, under the title "2. Historical Progression of Afghanistan In Relation to the Novel" (starting on page 19), this is particularly apparent.
