Language cultures is a module targeted to the students of the first two years of the LMD system. In the first and the second semester, students should have been exposed to definitions and elements of language and culture and theories that study the relationship between language and culture. In the third semester, which we are dealing with, students are taught about British culture and in the fourth semester, they are taught about American culture. The objectives of this course are centred around mastering total
knowledge about the British and the American culture and history so that they
can draw a complete picture; learning and using the English language with
recognizing its history and the different aspects of its culture. Such a course
will help students access to authentic language use. It will also help them
engage easily within the British or the American society in case of
scholarships, visits or even permanent citizenship.
